The Longmorn Distillery is a Speyside Distillery that can be described as one of the best hidden gems in Scotch Whisky.

Although its history is unassuming, Longmorn is distinct for having remained in continuous operation since its inception—a rare feat for a distillery.

Notably, its stills continued to be coal-fired until 1993, at which point the facility transitioned to steam coil heating.

Longmorn has quietly served as a reliable source of the sweet, deeply fruity character that defines many exceptional blends.

This single cask hails from a first fill ex-Bourbon Barrel laid down in August 2011

We’re expecting just 300 bottles.

NOSE

An exceptionally inviting and decadent nose opens with an immediate, glorious wave of freshly baked Panettone, sweet vanilla sugar, and rich almond frangipane. Beneath these dominant pastry notes lies a deeper complexity, revealing hints of toasted marzipan, warm brioche, and delicate baking spices that leap vibrantly from the glass.

TASTE

The palate is wonderfully indulgent, led by rich room-temperature butter and soft, spiced raisin buns. It steadily unfolds into a generous fruit orchard filled with crisp Gala apples, poached pears, tropical bananas, and sweet purple plums. Draped in a luscious coating of golden honey, the experience is underscored by a remarkably silky texture and an elegant, velvety mouthfeel that carries into a long, satisfying finish.

ABOUT THE LABEL

Our original label simply referenced the workable steam engine, that was running up until 1979, that can can be found at the distillery. Not much to go on for a revamp of the label, so it was a look into the distillery’s history for inspiration.

Longmorn historically served as the prized "top dressing" malt for Queen Anne Blended Scotch Whisky, a popular blended Scotch first produced in 1884. Here she is enjoying a tumbler full, while playing with her train.
