An interesting older twist on our delicious Canadian corn whisky. This release marries two very different age statement Canadian Corn whiskies finished in Pedro Ximenez Octaves.
Maize, which is commonly known as corn in Canada, is primarily grown in the southern regions of the country where the climate and soil conditions are suitable for its cultivation. The provinces of Ontario and Quebec are the largest producers of corn in Canada.
The southwestern region of Ontario, including areas around cities like London, Chatham-Kent, and Windsor, is particularly well-suited for corn cultivation due to its fertile soil and favorable climate.
We’re expecting to get just 343 bottles at 45.8% ABV of this belter, so move swiftly.
NOSE
An exciting return to a beloved style after a long hiatus. Additional years of ageing reveal impressive depth, characterised by refined oxidation, classic rancio notes, damp earth, and dusty dunnage warehouse aromas. It captures a wonderfully atmospheric, river-adjacent freshness reminiscent of being down by the River Thames in London.
TASTE
The palate offers a rich synthesis of sweet, nutty grains and well-integrated oak, layered with damp warehouse woodiness and vibrant fruit notes. Fresh timber and forest-like accents bring a crisp balance to its intricate profile, creating an exceptionally complex whisky yet remains delightfully gluggable throughout.
ABOUT THE LABEL
Our original label took a look into the office of our compliance team, or the ‘fun police’ as we often call them. We’ve taken a single element from that label, the dartboard, for our revamped “core” style label.
That’s the ‘Blender of the Year’ (2023) you’re throwing darts at ya muppet! Are those darts telling the story of the blend, double 12?
