ABOUT THIS BOTTLING

Embracing the latest trends in music consumption, this next release is available to stream directly to your ears, which is perhaps appropriate for a distillery whose name translates to ‘mouth of the river’.

Bunnahabhain was built to provide malt whisky for the blenders. While it was used across the industry, it performed a central role in three: Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark and, in time, Black Bottle.

Huge stills and low fill levels help define what has always been a light style of malt.

This Bunnahabhain hails from the era long before they started using heavily peated malt. It’s been matured in ex-Bourbon hogsheads and has been sitting in glass, under bond. So it’s time to unleash this Islay classic.

NOSE

Fruit pastels, fresh barley, and citrus notes. There’s gentle woodsmoke, always there, drifting in and out of intensity.

TASTE

Classic Bunna: Malty with a hint of sea air. There’s also poached pear with a chocolate sauce, and the finish is long with pepper and that drifting woodsmoke.
