ABOUT THIS WINE CASK SERIES BOTTLING
They use some of the best barley, grown in Norfolk, and superb Breckland water to make their whisky. This 9 Year Old release is a heavily peated new-make, matured in an Oloroso Sherry barrel and we’ve bottled this at cask strength - 67% ABV.
The English Whisky Company led the new wave of English whisky makers when they released the first English single malt for more than a hundred years in 2009!
You’ll recognise our label from our first and second batch. St George is still battling that damn dragon, so we’ve brightened the label up a little so you can watch the battle go down.
Nose
Dried fruits; dates, raisins, figs, and plain chocolate Digestive biscuits. A sooty, slightly saline, smoke follows.
Palate
Dry, hints of coffee grounds, dark chocolate, fresh ginger, and salted dried plums. Waves of peat smoke build into the peppery finish.
About the Label
Our label features the epic struggle between St. George and the dragon as experienced from within the plucky George's helmet.
What we can see is what the dragon is guarding - why that armoured fellow isn't freeing a maiden, he's after the gold!
