A delicious rye whisky aged in a bourbon cask with an Oloroso finish. After the Pepper family closed the distillery back in the 1950s, Amir Peay brought the brand back to life in 2008 and since has revived the distillery in the original buildings. The first spirit ran at the end of 2017 and we just had to bottle some.
Set in an old school soda float shop, smartly dressed distillery owner Amir is having his order taken. Against a backdrop of all kinds of sweet treats, he chooses from three barrel shaped soda fountains and for this time, he goes for an Olosoro.
Nose: Toasted oats, barley and sticky dates Palate: A flood of sweetness, followed by cinnamon, cloves and warming spices
Finish: Spices fade away to a buttery, creamy flavour
