ABOUT THIS AUSTRALIA SERIES BOTTLING
Founded in 2013 in urban Melbourne, Starward set out to create a consistent and approachable Australian whisky, designed to be cracked open and enjoyed with friends.
Their bottlings are now available across the world, and they have fast become of the best known Australian whiskies.
Starward predominantly mature their whiskies in Australian Ex-Red Wine barrels, favouring Barossa Shiraz. The local area experiences high variance in temperature, moving through a range of up to 20c per day. Maturation in their winter months can be as fast as Scotland’s summers!
Nose
Creme caramel, redcurrant and mince pies.
Palate
Burst of sweet red fruit leather, soft biscuity oak fading into a spice led finish.
About the Label
Starward, Australia’s first new wave distillery reaching for the stars, they’re Starward bound, and yes, that is The Southern Cross you can see.
So, full spaceship corniness for our Starward label with founder David Vitale telling Distillery Manager Sam Slaney that ‘Nothing's gonna stop us now!’
There are lots of stories about distillery dogs, but you’ve never seen them in a spaceship before.
