While a good portion of Glen Grant’s whisky makes its way into some excellent blends, they still produce a fair old amount of whisky that’s presented and very much enjoyed as a single malt. A top Speyside distillery, and well equipped with its four pairs of stills - the wash stills have vertical sides at the base, and all the stills have purifiers. This leads to increased reflux, which in turn leads to a lighter spirit. Our Glen Grant label features Major James Grant, son of Glen Grant co-founder James Grant and previous owner of the distillery, chucking dynamite into a pond to hunt crocodiles, as he was wont to do on his hunting trips.
Nose: Warm apple strudel, dusted with cinnamon, brown sugar and almonds. Yum.
Palate: More sticky sugar and nuts, now developing a rich, fragrant core of barley.
