One of the few remaining Lowland whisky distilleries, Auchentoshan is known for triple-distilling their spirit, resulting in a light, elegant personality. As such, their whisky often works wonders in cocktails, which is just what White Lyan/Dandelyan mastermind Ryan Chetiyawardana is mixing up on the label of our Auchentoshan. Follow along with his recipe and enjoy - or simply savour the luscious Lowland whisky neat! Your call. We’re not going to tell you what to do.
Nose: Dry and nutty initially, dry grasses followed by zesty fresh fruit, lime led, nectarines and tart pineapple. Hints of bread dough and some toasted wood too. Custard cream biscuits and vanilla ice cream later - complex!
Palate: Grassy with nutty malt and creamy vanilla. Warming chilli spices and ginger. Beautifully. Balanced.
Finish: The spices linger leaving a mint chocolate note that seems to last forever. A stunning ‘toshan!
